2nd graders are sharpening their skills as researchers! 2nd graders have each chosen a special person from history to research using a library database and books. They participated in the MKA research cycle by asking questions, searching for and evaluating information, and taking notes. Researchers then decided how to display their information on nonfiction posters. They applied their understanding of nonfiction features, such as headings, pictures, captions, fun facts, and source citations, as they created unique posters that teach others about the person they researched. Lastly, students reflected on their nonfiction research work using technology tools. Ask your 2nd grader to tell you about their nonfiction research and the special person they have chosen to learn about.
